The Sequin Spell

Honestly felt like I had an obnoxious mermaid thing going on while walking around the city in this sparkly blue ensemble, especially on such a gloomy day. Who says you have to be restricted to the usual in this sweater weather? Perks of this slightly loose skirt includes being able to shove away half of this way oversized dolman-sleeved sweater. I kept everything to a minimum since the sequins were quite a statement, opting for a simple bag and minimal jewellery.

Feels so good to be off school! Happy easter holidays everyone :)

This is the look I wore to a family dinner to celebrate my dad's birthday. I think I quite like monochrome theme, which I don't usually wear much, and also starting to warm up to the whole cut out boot trend (honestly, did not like it very much at first) but it seems to work every now and then so! What do you think?

School starts sooon, ready to embrace the HSC.

Happy new year! Started off the new years festivities with hotel party overlooking the harbour fireworks. It was a lovely night and definitely one to remember. So how did you spend your new years?

See you soon and may 2014 be a better year than the last x

Kristian Aadnevik Autumn/Winter RTW 2013

So I was browsing the internet and came upon this designer and decided to make an impulse post about his latest collection, which I love love love! The designs are just beautiful and elegant, and very wearable! I would love to actually one day own a piece. Throughout the entire collection, the rhythm of the designs are consistent; elegant, flowy and rippling with sensuous movement. The classic shapes kept the designs grounded and the sheer or textured fabrics (chiffon and velvet being chief among them) drew them all into unity. The dark colours and lacey designs added a gothic sensation to it, showcasing a daring collection full of mystery and beauty (and lots of skin and legs).

Well there you go, some of my favourite pieces. Take a look x

A very belated and lazy post...

This was just an outfit I wore to a dinner date. Came home that night and went on a impulse midnight photoshoot haha. Honestly, I'm more of a summer person, but winter is coming soon so let's see how the fashion challenges go this year :)

see you soon x

Study with me!

Yogurberry - gotta love froyo

It has been a while! A long while at that. I've just been so caught up, at first with exams, and then that merged into procrastination and I'm sorry! But I'm back for real this time! (i hope)

Exam week was crazy though, I spent everyday of my term 1 holidays at the library and only had a few nights to spare for dinner with friends and a party of two. But for those looking for a good quiet place, the state library is beautiful and even now, I still go haha how nerdy can I get?

NYFW Vera Wang F/W RTW 2013/14

Seriously, have I ever mentioned how much of an inspiration Vera Wang is for me? I can't get enough of it. Again another pretty collection from Wang, this time venturing into classic dressmaking with strong structured silhouettes, a switch from her usual masculine but graceful pieces (yes, a strange mix at first, but she makes it work), showcasing a blur of beautiful, elegant and artistic designs.

The show opened with a dozen or so monochromatic numbers with majority of it consisting of a strong black layered structure against a simple grey canvas, with the occasional appearance of sequins and faux fur. It then progressed fairly quickly through a galore of vivid floral prints and bold pops of colours, keeping the recurring opera glove accessory.

The finale of the collection was filled with shimmer and youth, adopting a more fitted, feminine look as opposed to the plunging armholes at the start. Iridescent pink and purples balanced out by simple blacks with the occasional lace detailing made the whole collection seem ever so lovely.

The photos really don't do any justice to the designs, watch the whole show here.

A bold and feminine take on fashion by the one and only Vera Wang.

As you can see by now, this month wasn't a very clothing month, I haven't gone out enough to have a fashion post, and so I apologise for any disappointments haha! Even the things I bought weren't clothing, except for the pair heels (does that count?). So how have my fellow readers been? Did everyone enjoy valentines day frolicking in fields of flowers (both literally and metaphorically, since everywhere I went there were roses) with their valentine? What else happens in Feb?

Ah well, I'd say my purchases are pretty standard, and I definitely recommend the book. It may sound a little creepy but I freaking love it.

As for updates about my life, there should be a few outfit posts coming up soon enough (bought few party dresses, but keeping them a secret so I didn't include them in this post). I also got a few more piercings so maybe you'll catch a glimpse of them later on? ;)

Ciao x.

Paradise Cove

Wearing: "California Paradise Cove" tank, Supre blue denim shorts, black boots, Jay Jays  clear fluro pink shoulder bag, Sportsgirl stone ring & silver and black rope bracelet

Just another lazy day post... wasn't really planning to shoot this, but hey, let's just count it as an outfit of the day post haha. Yesterday my family went to Blaxland Riverside Park for some "quality family time" which consisted of me getting even more sunburnt than I already was!

Okay, so here's a little confession. I don't quite like these shoes but someone gave them to me after my combats broke, and they were too brand spanking new for my taste so I wore them to the park in hopes of getting mud and dust and a few scratches on it. I guess "be careful what you wish for" really is a good word of advice, because it ended up splattered with poo. yaay. Don't worry, I'll spare you the gross details, AND I washed it, so back to square one.

Otherwise, the weather was pretty good and the park is very nice (aside from the many seagulls that flock around you waiting for food)

Ciao x

Jolis Matin

Wearing: Forever New floral bustierSupre basic circle skirt, black combat boots (thrifted)thrifted plaid shirt, Sportsgirl earcuff, Mimco crystal dome stud, Diva basic stud, Diva leather cuff, markets silver and black rope bracelet, markets leaf charm bracelet & brown leather satchel

Time really does fly by so quickly when you're out having fun haha. Yesterday, I met up with two of my friends at Newtown for a food day. We ates lots, and basically just walked in and out of one cafe/restaurant/place one eating and then walking it off!  Tried some of Australia's best gelato at Cow And The Moon (seriously, they got the award) and it was soo nice, I think I like the flavour Dulce De Leche the best out of the ones we tried: pistacchio, pomegranate, dulce de leche & strawberry balsamic. Seriously good stuff, try it out. Then we had froyo over the course of the day at Mooberry and Wowcow, then strawberries dipped in chocolate at Max Brenner, cappuccino at Campos (the cafe smells divine), followed by quesadillas for lunch.

Anyway, I wore this girly x grunge ensemble because the floral piece and the flowy skirt made me feel girly and sweet while the plaid and the dark colours contrasted to give off a tougher vibe. I keot the rest of the look pretty basic, accessorising in silver toned jewellery, including a dainty black and silver ring that unfortunately did not make it onto the photos!

Well that's it! I apologise for the poor photo quality (testing out my new camera + sister got embarassed shooting in the middle of the road).

Ciao x
